Meet Dr Luke Miller
Orthopaedic Surgeon – Hip, Knee & Trauma Specialist
Dr Luke Miller is a dedicated and experienced orthopaedic surgeon, committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients across Toowoomba and the wider region.
He specialises in hip and knee arthroplasty, sports-related knee conditions, and general orthopaedic trauma.
Dr Miller’s medical career began with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Queensland, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from James Cook University in 2012.
He completed specialist training in orthopaedic surgery through the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Program and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) in 2025.
His extensive training has taken him through some of Queensland’s leading hospitals, including Toowoomba Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, and Townsville Hospital.
Since 2025, Dr Miller has been serving the community as an Orthopaedic Consultant at Toowoomba Hospital.
Dr Miller is also passionate about medical education and research. He is a Senior Lecturer with The University of Queensland School of Medicine and has presented his research at national and international conferences, including the RACS and AOA Annual Scientific Meetings. His research has been published in respected orthopaedic journals.
He holds a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Newcastle and is certified as a Permanent Impairment Evaluator (AMA Guides 5th Edition). Dr Miller is also a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) and the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), ensuring he remains at the forefront of evolving surgical techniques and patient care.
Meet Dr Natasha Van zyl
Orthopaedic Surgeon – Shoulder, Elbow, Hand & Wrist Specialist

Dr Natasha van Zyl is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in upper limb surgery, including conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist. She is passionate about restoring function and improving quality of life for her patients through evidence-based, individualised care.
Dr van Zyl completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2015, following an earlier career as a veterinary surgeon after graduating with honours in Veterinary Science. She undertook her orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Program in Queensland and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA).
Furthering her subspecialty expertise, Dr van Zyl completed an upper limb fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining advanced skills in the management of complex upper limb conditions and trauma.
Dr van Zyl has a particular interest in treating both degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. She is known for her clear, empathetic communication and her collaborative, goal-oriented approach to care.
A former equine vet on the Darling Downs, Dr van Zyl brings a strong connection to rural Queensland and is deeply committed to improving access to specialist orthopaedic care for patients across the region. She currently holds a consultant appointment at Toowoomba Base Hospital and is actively involved in training future orthopaedic surgeons.
